Good Organisation is currently supporting local homeless people to offer a tour guide service, but we know that only a small percentage of those we've engaged have the
confidence to act in a public facing role.

With this in mind, we have launched a new initiative which will assist those unable to work as guides, to convey the beauty of different parts of York through the lens of photography.

Those photographs will then be turned into postcards and distributed to raise small amounts of money to provide practical assistance for the participants. We hope this will enable them to pay for affordable housing deposits or to buy essential household items where such accommodation has been secured..

The project is entitled 'Postcards from the Edge', not only reflecting the marginalisation experienced by those we support, but also capturing the secondary aim of the project, where the images used will promote architectural and heritage attractions outside of the city centre that tourists rarely get to see.
